How far would you go to protect the ones you love?
He pauses, for a moment -- to the ends of the earth, of course, to protect his family. His siblings, his parents, his betrothed, his lover... the list of people he’d do anything to protect seemed longer and longer every day. But how far would he go? How far were the ends of the earth? What qualifiers were there on everything? “I think most problems can be solved without going to such great lengths. I think violence has never solved any problem that couldn’t be fixed with a good conversation, and neither has death. Would I kill? Would I die? Of course not. I’d do one better: I’d find a better way.”
If you could only do one more thing before you died, what would it be?
“Just one? Well, it’d certainly have to be something big, to be sure it was worth it. Save the world, maybe? End my family’s feuds, maybe, or put something in place to ensure the safety of those working in the mines. Rid the world of demons for good, so we wouldn’t need the wall anymore. That sounds about enough to be worth it, I think.”
