The ballad of the rich

you turn your backs

and wear your blindfolds

to the life you don't understand

your money

you watch it grow on trees

then wield it high and proud

the dying, dirty truth is clear

it lurks outside your door

but ignorance makes you keep it closed

and shut out thoughts of the poor

admit you're nothing like me

i while you bathe in Gold and Green

when we ask for bread and water

you'll rejoice in our quiver and fear

we're meant to look up and pray

as you "bless us" with your voice.

the only blessing i hear,

is when my poverty kills me off -

you'll dig me out of my resting grave

and sell my remains for gold
