#APRILSHOWERMEWITHYOGA : WEEK 3 DAY 5 || Pincha Mayurasana Howdy! I'm bringing y'all the last day of week 3, our inversion for this week is forearm stand! 🙃🙃 Pincha was the first big accomplishment I had in my practice, it was a pose that took a whole lot of practice and did not come naturally to me. With that being said, it is a like a blank canvas, you can do so many variations with the legs, the back, the hand positioning, and prop usage, the possibilities are ENDLESS ❤️ Tips: in the beginning, I show you that I am holding my arms and touching each elbow, this ensures that your arms are shoulder length apart, any farther you dump into the back and don't maintain healthy shoulders. -use a block between the hands for more support -dolphin pose is a great modification and also the first step to pincha, walk in from dolphin if you are comfortable, then slowly kick or draw each leg up -straight up pincha NO BANANA BACKS!! I know it happens, it happened to me too, but try try try to squeeze in that core and create length through the spine -tuck is a great modification if straight pincha throws you off balance, also straddle is great for weight distribution 😉 I showed you a few variations, in any variation however, especially bendy ones, be sure to engage the core and push the ground away from you to keep shoulders back and strong, core engagement is necessary to prevent lower back dumping ESPECIALLY in bendy variations!!!! Yes I said it twice 😁 With that being said, check my cohosts for their variations tomorrow, and enjoy your weekend off before our final week! Also if you have questions, DM or comment to me! . . Check back Sunday night with @caitmnolan for Monday's pose! #APRILSHOWERMEWITHYOGA HOSTS: @caitmnolan (Mondays) @senoritayogini (Tuesdays) @reganwarner (Wednesdays) @yogawithdavina (Thursdays) @kjyoga14 (Fridays) SPONSORS: @infinitystrap @liforme @ohsosom USE CODE 'AprilShowers' for 10% off.
