Short story concept
Two kingdoms. Frienemies. One kingdoms sends a group of nobles to the other kingdoms castle singing "we wish you a merry christmas" as a peace offering. The king refuses to give them any figgy pudding. They are locked in a stalemate. Years pass, nobody gives. The nobles establish an unofficial colony on the drawbridge of the castle. The two kingdoms are on the brink of war. All is lost.
