I wanted to rec this for a while. This is the most amazing humans are space orcs story I've ever read. It's called, "In Search of Home".
It's an original work so there's no fandom you need to know to read it, it's over 362,000 words, which is more than decently long, and has an ongoing sequel that's surpassed the word count of the first story (we love getting closure 💞). It has a happy ending (not a spoiler, it says in the tags) so don't worry about your heart breaking too much.
I'm rereading the first story and I feel kind of cool knowing the alien words.
I cried reading it, I laughed, I felt victorious. I love it so much and want more people to know it exists because original works aren't as popular on ao3.
Mind the tags!

Summary:
I need- I need someone to chain me and another mutt/thing/creature together to fight, pronged dogs collars keeping us together, biting, scratching, snarling, both of us realizing that this feels good, that this is right. This where we belong, where we'll die and end others lives. I fucking need to dig into them, rip their guts open, choke them with the chain, keep them reined in, leave welts thick enough that they start bleeding from the links, need to eat them alive and have the collar unlocked off of my as the victor.

Summary: The only thing Alpha hybrid Katsuki has ever known is kill or be killed. But on the night he was supposed to die, Izuku saved him, and he showed Katsuki what life really is. What love is. And Katsuki is going to spend his whole life by this amazing man’s side.
Frankie’s comment: This is such a great story, and the tragic beginning makes such a great contrast with the fluff and lovey-dovey-ness of the rest. It’s like imperfect perfection. Like, it shows that someone who’s broken can absolutely achieve total happiness and love. This might totally make it into my favourites.

Soooo here are a couple doodles that made me think of the monster fighting ring Au. In this tiger and her group were unfortunate victims caught and thrown into the pits. She's the only survivor of their group. She can make her hand into claws because its all she can do from going full monster if she absolutely had to she changes into a dragon and they result gave her a tail and clawed feet. There is a kink in her tail from a past fight. (There are scars on her torso too but shirt covers that)
The more she had to fight the less human she felt, faces were harder to remember, she barely remembers things before the pits. The only thing that can help her remember still is the mask she keeps on her person. Its harder to form words now.... Then again who has time to talk when you fight for your life?
"she's a good specimen, hasn't lost a fight yet"
"Yea well people pay big bucks for these things to fight. The fact she lived longer than the rest of her group means somethin I guess"
Tiger losing her mask during a fight
Fighters don't have names, they just survive. Most children forgot their names after a few weeks, its a miracle she can still remember hers.
"Get 46 ready for the pits! The people want a dragon on the field tonight!"
