Unspeakable training was hard, but harder than that it was the looks on people’s face at her. She couldn’t fault them ─ her name would always preceded anything she did. I only said I thought he was a vampire one time, why won’t you let me forget it. ” Louis feigned offence for barely a second, a grin taking its place over his lips as he turned his head to glance in his Aunt’s direction. “ I was ten! ” The protest sounded teasingly in his voice, propping himself up to run a hand back through his messy hair. So perhaps it had been a thought that stuck with him far longer than being ten, but Aunt Gabrielle didn’t have to know that. “     Besides, he still looks like one, with the slicked back hair and those teeth. I remain by the fact I would fight him if you needed me to. ”

“I was never huge on parties back in college, really. I mean, I’ve managed to have my fun every now and then, of course, but... let’s just say I always had a one-track mind. I was always way too focused on getting what I wanted to get done. Apparently, I’ve been an old man from the beginning.” There’s a hint of amusement in his eyes as he speaks, and he’s smirking. Mike knows fully well that, while most of his words at this very moment are completely true, he should never let it go further than this. Abby doesn’t need to learn so much more about his past, and though the idea keeps bothering him, he’s managed to send it to the back of his mind after a while.

“So what about you? Were you a party animal or did you prefer to stay at home, have a beer and watch a movie instead?”
