since you're probably never gonna watch it i want to tell you about the only yugioh series i (unfortunately) watched almost in full. which is vrains
it lost like 40 episodes due to production issues
one fight takes like 3 episodes. it's so gruelling to watch
the fights take place in this like. digital universe thing where characters have different apperances and names. it's like evil pripara
they kill every character in the cast for the "final arc"... three separate times
it just feels very suffocating since for like 50 episodes the only characters the protagonist ever actually talks to are one guy and his ai
there's also a plot where the ais try to take over humanity and i genuinely remember nothing of it
the final ed's full version is an 11 minute 24 second long freddie mercury tribute and is the whole reason i watched this in the first place
ok wow. that sounds like... Something alright
anyway i'm definitely letting yugioh ruin my art style now. i wanna draw 100 characters with huge eyes and thick eyeliner and crazy hair and 5 belts
finished an entire season of yugioh and i still have no clue how to play yugioh 👍
the idea that card games can bring out your dark side is probably a really appealing idea to children since they can't do other things that bring out another side of themselves e.g. drinking alcohol
every yugioh battle feels like this
yugioh season 0 is all about games, so you'd think that watching it would teach you a thing or two about gaming strategies. but you'd be wrong because all of the strategies used in the show are things like "make people fall through the roof by poking holes it it using a yo-yo" or "your card doesn't work because my grandpa's soul is in it"
7 episodes into yugioh season 0. so far:
pretty much every single episode has characters beating each other up and/or threatening each other with weapons
the colours are so ugly. it's all like eye-searing acidic neons OR so dark you can barely see anything. sometimes both at once, somehow
the main character has a secret evil self who makes people play deadly games à la jigsaw
none of the games make any sense. they operate solely on emotional logic and/or troll logic
he punishes a watch collector by making the watches melt into his skin and turning him into a clock-man filled with gears
it's soo outdated and misogynistic and toxicly masculine
like 1/3rd of the show takes place inside some kind of weird mind-dimension
there are a lot of sexual jokes. it's not even subtle
lots of lore involving ancient egypt, but i already knew that from the tumblr posts
there's a nerdy boy who secretly is evil. he carries a whip and calls other humans his pets
i can never watch the newer series now. they could never live up to this
