The Making of Bliss (First Attempt)

I wanted to try my hand at making Bliss from the Morlocks. She appears in the storyline initially in Uncanny X-Men Vol 1 Issue 261 - 263, where the Morlock Masque morphs Bliss' face and body into a replica of Jean Grey's. Bliss' power is a tiny head attached to their tongue, which can also ooze venom.

I learned a lot with this prototype, including that I chose the wrong paint! I'm shipping this out to a friend, then trying again. I'll document that attempt as well!

Truly, I learned so much, including how thick to make the clay tongue, how large to make the hole in the back of the head, while also carefully carving guide for eyeholes and the mouth area. And let's not forget the paint! Next time, matte only!

Can't wait to give it another whirl. :)

Well i should have all the materials i need to make my custom Robotnik figure now. The only thing im probably not going to touch is the hair sense its molded on. Which stinks id love to alter that. Oh well....

But if any one knows a way. Please let me know. Maybe i can sand it?

So I painted my IDW Starscream figure and made Pharma because wow why not. Someone make me a third party Pharma toy I beg of u

I re-did Shadow’s eyes - they were kinda meh, but I think they look much better now! To achieve this effect, I used a thin layer of glittery silver nail polish and followed by a thicker layer of red multi-surface acrylic paint. Because the paint was not sticking to the figure, but it the polish did, and the paint stuck to the polish just fine. (shrugs)

This is my first time painting a plastic figure, and, gotta say, my heart was in my mouth the whole time, especially since I was doing the eyes and it would have been really freaking noticeable if I’d messed up. As it is, the paint application could have been a touch smoother, but I’m pleased with the overall outcome.
