What a weekend! My first visit to Memphis was memorable, enriching, and fun. The River City has delicious food, rich history, and friendly people. . . I have eaten enough bbq to grow a 🐖 in my belly. I visited the Civil Rights Museum and saw where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated. I walked along the famous Beale Street, home of the blues. The city also boasts being the home of soul and rock n roll. Often I caught myself singing classic soul songs and some ratchet tunes by Memphis rappers Three 6 Mafia (🎶It’s so hard out here for a pimp when you tryna make the money for the rent🎶). The people demonstrated true southern hospitality. I had friendly conversation with more strangers in the last 3 days than I usually have in a week at home. . . And to top things off, Audacity Fest 2019 (the event that brought me to the city) was my informative, inspiring, and entertaining. I learned many things, including new travel hacks, tips on becoming a travel writer or blogger, ways to become conversationally fluent in a new language, and many many more. I truly enjoyed my trip to Memphis and would definitely visit again (especially to try that 100oz mimosa bong at @automatic_slims_901 😜) —————————————- Have you ever been to Memphis?
