❛ This world is a dangerous one, little one. You should not be out in it alone. ❜
Still trying to get my thoughts together..
So I watched the first episode of Firefly three days ago, and I am still trying to wrap my head around all my thoughts. At first, I was not sure how I'd feel about the show, but I heard amazing things so I kept watching. As the episode progressed the action and even more so the character traits that were developed kept my watching. So first off, Kaylee. I feel like Kaylee is the representation of what innocence is left in this dark and mad world. However, once she gets shot it kind of shows that all hope is lost. Someone i'm having a big difficulty reading is the captain. It's very clear that he is protective of his crew, but what is up with his control issues? Also, why does he decide to let River and Simon stay on the ship? It looked like he was finally opening up, but I also feel like he has other motives. ALSO, what is up with him and Inara? Clearly there is some history there that i'm dying to find out about. I feel like the only characters I really understand fully right now are Zoe and Hoban, and let me just say it: They are adorable. I'm really digging the screw the government vibe, and one of my favorite quotes from the episode actually is "That's what governments are for, to get in a man's way." But i'm not too sure how this whole alliance is coming after them thing is going to work out. Last thought is about these reavers. YIKES, they seem terrifying. Can't wait to learn more. I'm going to try not to english-major the hell out of the rest of this episode and analyze it even further. Time to watch episode two. So long fellow Brown coats.
