Two-Sided City
I chose to put these a photo of criss-cross caution tape along side with a photo of metal construction poles together because of the interesting lines that were portrayed in both images because I thought I could easily unify them because of the lines. The relationship between the two to me signifies the two sides to the city of Chicago, on the one hand, you have new shiny construction that signifies wealth and modernity and the other you have gloomy exposed brick and old paint with caution tape as the subject which signifies the neglected areas of the city. In order to make the two photos more cohesive and blend as one, I copied the pole from the image on the rights and put it between the two images to make it a dividing line. Lastly, I added some filters and lightened the photo to give them the same color tone and mood.
