At each FileMaker DevCon there is a product showcase with lots of vendors showing off their latest products. Troi Automatisering has been showing their plug-ins for over 18 years now, the first DevCon we showed plug-ins was in Monterey. Over the years we have seen a few new vendors, but in general it is a very steady group. Which I think says something about the stable environment of the FileMaker community. Some of them have become quite familiar faces.
Below you’ll find a few photo’s of this year showcase in Las Vegas, to give you an impression of what the three day’s of the showcase was like.
15 years of Excelisys
Excelisys celebrated 15 years in business this year. Below you see them at their booth, with the great Christo, who’s leading the pack on the right.
Then to the Troi trio: Tim, Peter and Diana were the booth-babes this year. Tim has grown quite a lot since he went to his first DevCon in 1999 in San Diego, where he had to hide beneath the booth, as children were not allowed.
Luckily he is now 21 years, so this is the first FileMaker DevCon he could help as an adult.
Lunch was served in the same room as the showcase, so you had a view on the booths of the vendors while eating. Also as a vendor I could have some lunch, while looking at the booth, to see if I needed to assist.
More demoing going on here. Notice the blue iBeacon on the left, which could be used to play a game with the FileMaker Go app.
Vendor Sessions
Part of showcasing at the conference was the vendor session, where we told (and demonstrated) what our Troi plug-ins can do to enhance a FileMaker solution:
Showcasing: a great experience
The product showcase is always a great way to see what is new in the FileMaker world. It really helps developers new to the FileMaker platform, but also more experienced FileMaker developers to see the vast possibilities of additional products for FileMaker, that make developing easier. For some this is a real eyeopener.
The showcase was sold out this year, so that resulted in about 25 vendors demonstrating their range of products and services.
It is always such a busy time being at the booth of the showcase, but certainly gives us a great feeling when we are demoing our plug-ins and talking to so many FileMaker enthusiasts. And that is why we love the FileMaker Community.
