Younity
Younity allows you to access the files you store on your devices from other devices. For those of you that don't feel safe storing your private documents on cloud storage platforms like Dropbox. Aside from the fact that employees may have access to your data, there are other entities who may be interested, regardless of what you store or who you are.
The Younity agent resides on your personal computer and allows you to access the files stored on your personal computer from mobile devices (currently iOS only). You can also easily share files with your friends. Keep in mind that your devices with the data you want to access have to be on. So when you head off on vacation don't turn off that PC or Mac if you want to stream music, movies, or work on that future award winning script.
There have been services on both platforms that have allowed you to do this in one way or another for some time now. What Younity brings to the table is a more refined and easy to use interface. I talk about technology that makes our lives easier in some way quite a lot and emphasize on ease of use. If the technology is hard to implement and manage you won't use it, plain and simple. Younity is easy to setup and use.
