But can we talk about how Ele was Fondling Filo’s ear? This is such a siblings thing!!!! It was SO cute!

I hate Ele feeling even more alone. She can’t tell anyone what happened because she blames herself (it’s never your fault if you are assaulted). She just starts to withdraw because she feels like she can’t tell her friends who know v little about her relationship with Edo.

She can’t tell Filo because she’s afraid of saying what happened outloud and that her brother may not take care or her—that she’d have to take care of him and his reaction. She can’t tell her mom she never listens.

She can’t tell Edo. This has already happened to him. He reacts Very Poorly when scared, by his own admission. How can she tell him that she was assaulted by her brother...that she doesn’t even know what happened? She can’t put that on him. Especially because Ele must feel even more foolish. She’s just another girl who was manipulated by Andrea

So, of course, Ele can’t sleep or eat or breathe. She’s constricted so tightly. Even though we know it’s not true, Ele must feel like every choice she has made has led to her isolation. In Ele’s mind It’s her fault her friends can’t be there for her, it’s her fault that her brother is skiddish around her after the fight, it’s her fault that she’s ~ruined things with Edo (even if he doesn’t know yet).

When you grow up having to look out for yourself and you don’t really have anyone else, you tend to internalize blame/screw ups. It’s always just Ele and that means this “mess” (that she describes it) is her fault. Because there’s no one else.

Once again, protect Eleonora Sava 2019. Give her the support system she desperately needs. Let Ele mess up without feeling as if there is no return from mistakes. Let Ele know that she is not to blame, never to blame, for what happened with Andrea.
