Wet Ones, 1975
You live in filth so glad we moved out don't know how you can live like this my depression dropping right down hold you at a distance for reason 😣😞
My grandma's house (which was in the same neighborhood) was a safehaven I could run to sometimes when things at home got bad. My grandma's house was a beautiful, antique, and clean space away from my filthy, dysfunctional house. My house was dirty, the carpets were stained with animal piss and shit, there was garbage and bugs on the floor. My mother didn't even clean up after herself, little lone us or the house.
We couldn't afford rent at our duplex, so we moved into my grandma's house - the filth followed us. My mother let the pets shit and piss all over my grandma's house, even though she said we couldn't have our pets. She turned the backyard into a farm, and the rosebed I loved was ruined by the ducks. We always had pets because my mother "loved" animals, and even though she took better care of them than us, I still saw a lot of animal death and neglect. The animals were miserable, us kids were miserable, and instead of giving us up to people who could take better care of us, my mother insisted on neglect. The house was permanently stained, and the one place where I felt safe was desecrated by my mother's chaos.
We've all been affected by the filth; living in a dirty home bore a deep state of disgust into all of us, but after years of hopelessness, that transpired into depression. My mother doesn't give a shit or take any responsbility, none of us expressing distress changed that. I still live in my grandma's house with her, my brother, and my mother; the rest of my family doesn't care anymore, and mantaining the house while cleaning up after everyone is exhausting. The house is never going to be clean again, we don't have enough money to fix the carpet or walls, but I still do everyday chores (general cleaning, dishes, ect) for 4 people.
It gets overwhelming to think of how this house used to be compared to the state of it now. There's a deep sadness in the whole picture I can't unravel right now. This house used to be safe and clean, and now it's been desecrated by the insidious nightmare of filth that burdened our old house. The worst of it is, no one gives a fuck anymore.
I am now a proud bird owner ^-^
