Radioactive Convenience
Final Art 3
This is rendered image made up in photoshop of a line or “army” of trash cans on the street. This is a satire on how we are at war with garbage and waste. I used the dots to illustrate a mass spreading and concentrated density. With the use of burn and dodge tools i was able to lighten and darken certain areas of this image. I wanted the “recycling” sign to stand out on the actual bins, and the lids of the bins to be lower in contrast.
Final Art Work 3
A shrine to trash as it is not valued highly in society. We should be praising our waste not hiding ourselves from it.
In the previous image, I wanted to show my shrine to waste in it’s raw form. I created a illustrated art work from that original image.
- CONSUMERS AFFAIR -
A shrine devoted to the beloved waste of our lives. Our world revolves around consuming and disposing without even a thought of where it will end up. On the topic of Vagueness, i want to present the ideas of our trash not of disposal but to embrace it.
This set up was created made out of local waste (from my rubbish bin), all sourced with in a 20 meter distance. A sustainable approach to material usage, as all of these items are now being recycled. The use of photography/ assemblage were techniques to create a “shrine” like display.
I wanted to play with the irony in this piece, by using mixed materials. The jewelry symbolizing wealth and stature, and the trash representing disposability. I chose to place them in the same scene to demonstrate that trash can be just as valuable as jewels.
This is not the final image, still in the photo editing stages.
