Skype call
“Hi, no that’s not right. Hello? mm, maybe. What’s up, Shane? uh, what if I’m saying her name wrong..” This went on for a bit too long, Nix trying out different things she could say to Shane once they finally started their Skype call. She couldn’t help but feel nervous, butterflies have been swarming in her stomach ever since they decided that they’d finally Skype each other. Nix was so excited to actually see Shane, watch the face that spoke with the voice she heard when they spoke, to be able to let her blue eyes rest on an image of her. Even if that image is of her being somewhere else and not by Nix’s side, it was definitely better than nothing. Better than the suspense of not being able to see her, to try and imagine what she looked like. She wanted it to be perfect, or at least as perfect as she could get it. Plus, practising what she wanted to say kept her nerves under control. Finally the time came for her to make the call, and so she opened her laptop and clicked onto Skype, letting herself process what was happening for a moment before finally clicking the video call button. Her heart began to race faster as she focused on the screen in front of her, waiting patiently for Shane’s answer.
