Tips to eat healthy before/during exam weeks
First of all - health food is brain food. There’s no way around it. I guarantee you will study/feel better when you are eating your fruits and veggies than when you are eating fast food/freezer meals.
These tips are just some things that have worked for me and help me to be a better self and student.
Eggs. If you are a person who eats eggs - have them in the house at all times! They are a great way to add protein to your morning or a quick and easy snack to prepare.
Veggies! Buying the veggies is one thing, but if you’re anything like me then you buy them and leave them in the veggie bin until you realize where that smell is coming from. When you buy the veggies - prepare them before you put them away! Whether that’s bagging snack sized carrots/snap peas or cutting them up for easy salad toppings, make sure they are easy to grab and add to your lunch or as a quick study snack.
remember those eggs we talked about? If you have prepared veggies in the fridge make sure you have some that are good in eggs too! I like onion, bell pepper, spinach, and grape tomatoes in mine. Plus I change it up when I feel like it. Sometimes I do avocado/guac and eggs (on toast or not, both is good!).
SMOOTHIES. I’m a fruit addict. I love me some Jamba Juice smoothies, fruit bowls, and to eat oatmeal with my fruit smoothie. I recommend finding what works for you - I use a frozen smoothie packs (store bought or homemade). Jamba Juice makes all your favorite smoothies in the freezer isle! Where ever the frozen fruit is, you’ll find them. (little tip, the JJ smoothies call for Apple juice but all of them are 29987x better with Orange Juice.)
Fruit in general - same as I mentioned for veggies. Buy them and prepare them before you put it away - whether its just cut up strawberries, a fruit salad, or apple slices, if it’s already prepared you’re more likely to opt for the health food!
I hope this helps out, let me know if you try anything and how it works for you! Also I’d love to hear what works for you so that I might try it too!
