IIM Mumbai Proposes Satellite Campus to Boost Finance and Tech Education

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) has submitted a proposal to the Maharashtra government seeking approval to set up a satellite campus in or around Mumbai, aiming to expand its footprint in management, finance, and technology education.

The proposed campus will offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs across economics, finance and accounting, technology and data science, and law and regulation, the institute said in a statement. A detailed financial and infrastructure plan has been shared with the Department of Higher and Technical Education.

Strategic Vision IIM Mumbai said the initiative is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, promoting interdisciplinary research, flexible learning, and holistic development. The plan also complements the Viksit Maharashtra 2047 roadmap, positioning Mumbai as a hub for finance, policy, and innovation.
