Unfortunately , extending my hiatus because I’m in a shit situation rn with my background checks and clearances haven’t been returned yet and I can’t start the new job until they are returned. This is doing a fuckin number on my psyche because unfortunately my bank accounts are empty, I have bills due that I can’t pay, and im in limbo not knowing when work will start and have no clear start and first pay date until those clearances return.
So , i have to extend my hiatus from here until i have a concrete start date. I’m sorry guys. Things just aren’t okay right now.
I wound up having a big anxiety attack and taking rescue meds while I was waiting for my partner at the dentist. It had nothing to do with the earlier interaction and maybe a lot to do with my dentist appointment last week and a little to do with the dental care my partner is getting now. Ultimately, it was about my childhood neglect and the care that I didn't get when I should have.
My partner's root canal and crown cost us more than a mortgage payment - money that we don't actually have right now. We had to put it on credit and trust that we'll figure it out in the future. I didn't even question that we would just get it done and figure it out later, because even though it's ridiculously expensive, she is priceless.
I think that is what hit me while I was sitting there in the waiting room. My teeth are finally fixed. I'm finally not in pain, and I was sitting there taking care of my partner and making sure that she won't be in pain either. We are taking care of each other the way we should have been taken care of when we were children, the way we deserved to be taken care of.
My parents convinced me that they simply could not afford to take care of me back then, and I know now that that was not true. They were better off financially then than I am now. The reality is that they chose to spend their money on other things. They chose to prioritize other things because I wasn't a priority, and maybe even because they thought I deserved my broken, painful teeth. They made me live with that pain and shame while they bought cars, furniture, computers, televisions, and even moved into a new house on a golf course.
The care I needed was expensive, but I was priceless. I deserved to be taken care of.
uhhhh how do you get rid of $8,000 of medical debt
Hey, all. I really hate making posts like this.
Moving really drained my entire bank account, and now I have less than $100.00 to last me until Monday, the 15th, when I get paid next.
I don’t have any skills that are commissionable; I know my edits are very basic, and it’s not like I can charge for fanfic.
Gas alone will cost me about half of what’s in my account; I’m currently sitting at a 1/2 tank, so I’ll need to fill up probably by Wednesday.
If anyone has a few dollars to spare, I’d appreciate it, and I will pay you back when I get paid. I just have to pay car insurance and make sure to pay at least $20.00 towards my credit card.
I will DM my PayPal info if anyone is ABLE.
The key word here is ABLE. Please do not send me money if you are not able to. I don’t care how much you want to help. You gotta take care of yourself first.

I’ve been coasting on a precarious financial situation since March-ish, only asking husband for funds to buy groceries while using my savings to pay for therapy. It’s been unsettling to watch the number drop down and down, but I’m supposed to have my job by now. I was supposed to have one ages ago.
Today we took a substantial financial hit and I’m having a really hard time with it. Especially with my therapy being our biggest expense right now (excluding rent.) I just...feel really awful. Undeserving, and like nothing but a burden.
So that’s where I’m at.
I keep doing budgets over and over again, accounting for every imaginable variation (big tax return, medium tax return, small tax return, no tax return; big raise, medium raise, small raise, etc etc etc etc) and it's definitely my OCD kicking in a little because I am literally obsessed with it. Like I probably spent 5 hours last weekend writing out virtually identical budgets over and over.
And e v e r y variation of my budget has me debt-free sometime between next June at the earliest, or October at the latest. I could be debt-free in a year if I get a decent tax return next spring!
And I'm so excited about it but also anxious about it somehow not working out? I have set this arbitrary deadline in my head of being debt-free before I'm 30? And it would be really, really nice for that to happen! But I need to remember that I'm not in control of all the variables. I can control most of my spending, but if my cat needs to go to the emergency vet or if I get in another car crash and have to buy a new car, this will all go out the window. And that's ok! I won't die if I'm still in debt when I turn 30! I'll be a normal millenial!
I just hate having this weight on my back. I want to have savings! (My savings account right now has $40 in it lol). I want to be able to travel without feeling guilty that that money should have gone to debt.
I just need to breathe. If I decide to take a couple extra months to pay off debt so I can go somewhere warm and sunny in the winter to fight my seasonal depression, that's ok! (I mean, the odds of being able to go anywhere this winter seem incredibly low given the covid situation, but if we magically get an effective and widely-available vaccine by October or something, I want to go away with my gf for a week!)
And the thing is, when I'm not putting every extra penny towards debt I can be so much more diligent about Tzedakah. I want to be in a place where I can drop money to every cause I can! And like, once I'm debt-free I will have enough extra money to do some of that!
I think part of my problem is that my parents are putting a ton of pressure on me to pay off my debt, and any time I make any purchase they think is unnecessary they'll comment on how that money could've gone to my student loans. I think I need to talk with them and tell them they need to back off on that.
But I also need to get out of my own head.
Sorry this is long and rambly lol.
