Well, after being in a dark, dark hole, ah finally was able to crawl out of it. Here is ma first Whumpshot after only lasting four days of Whumptober. Yay, ah guess?
There was this loud noise coming from the room next to him. There was shouting, but he could not make out what those people said. There was always shouting. Everyday.
His eyes were tired and he could not keep them open. Even as the door to his cell burst open, he was not able to look at the people entering it. He did not need to, it was the same person everyday that came to torture him.
Maybe today was the day and they finally killed him.
He could not take it any more, all those weeks, months of pain were too much for him. He had tried for so long to stay strong. But now his world was complete darkness and misery. His only wish was to die. For the pain to stop.
Maybe today was the day and they finally killed him.
A hand on his shoulder made him flinch. The hand was warm and the grip was not too harsh. What is going on?
It took him a while to be able to open his eyes, but he could finally see the person in front of him.
The face was smiling sadly at him. It was a familiar face. A face he never thought to see again. He never dared to dream of.
Am I already dead? Is this an illusion?
“Can you hear me?” The voice was deep and friendly. But worried at the same time.
It took him a while to comprehend what the person had said, but he nodded.
“That is good. Perfect. Oh god, you look terrible”, the voice said, now shaking a wee bit.
Why is he asking these questions? Am I not dead?
He closed his eyes again, darkness taking over.
“Hey, stay awake. Can you do that for me? The paramedics are on their way.”
He opened his eyes, blinking heavily.
“Very good. I am so sorry. It took so long to find you.” The man was almost crying, now cupping his cheeks. His hands were so warm, it was relieving to feel such a gentle touch.
He could not suppress a smile as he realised that this was, in fact, not a dream. It was reality.
They had finally come to rescue him.
