It's such an unlikely love, but will the stars align for them?
Finding Jupiter - Kelis Rowe
Sparks fly when Orion and Ray meet for the first time at a roller rink in Memphis. But these star-crossed souls have a past filled with secrets that threaten to tear them apart before their love story even begins. Found poetry, grief, and fate collide in this powerful debut.

The legitimacy of cover songs is a polarizing debate. Is a cover a cop-out? Is it ok if you're a previously established artist (i.e. Hendrix covering Dylan)? Is that actually cool? Who is your audience? Etc. etc. Personally, I'm a sucker for covers. I spent a good deal of my college years in a 12-piece funk cover band. I spent all of them in the LSJUMB, the world's largest rock & roll cover band. But let's scale it back a bit from that.
For me, acoustic covers fit into one of two categories, and sometimes both: beautiful, and hilarious. Often times there is a ukelele involved, and there is almost always a heightened degree of disconnect between the emotional feel intended in the original and the execution in the cover. Finding Jupiter's cover of "Till the World Ends", originally performed by an aging, auto-tuned Britney Spears, brings it all together. Jupiter, a Stanford group, leans on the uke to reduce Spears' club anthem to a small gathering amongst close friends.
Some other favorites to check out:
"Hey Ya!" (Outkast Cover) - Jebediah Parker: Acoustic covers of rap music, part 1. Here Parker actually synchronizes the lyrical and musical message of the original.
"Bitches Ain't Shit" (Dr. Dre Cover) - Ben Folds: Acoustic covers of rap music, part 2. What's more hilarious than this?
