Recently I was asked why I tag all of my art with #disabled artist and #queer artist and I figured I would share the reason.
As a queer and disabled person, I strive to make the art I need. Art that helps me feel seen, safe, and loved.
When I make this art for myself I am also making it for others. I think of the other disabled people who are stuck in bed and can’t get up. I think of the other queer people feeling scared by the world right now.
I think of my younger self. A boy who felt invisible, and used art as an escape.
By tagging the way I do, it helps me know that my art is reaching its intended audience.
Thank you for all your love and support. 🤍
