Just on the post you reblogged about asexuality and the lgbt community. I'm biromantic ace and while I don't agree at all with aces who are saying that gay people have it all (it's a total lie the oppression and discrimination is insane) I just wish that aces could be allowed in lgbt+ spaces too. Without anyone comparing the "levels of persecution" between being ace or gay. All the hate on tumblr lately towards aces is very hurtful so it would be cool if everyone could keep that in mind.

hey! as a bi ace as well, i understand your frustration with the comparisons, i do disagree with the idea that there is a specific place for ace/aro ppl in the lgbt community. this isn’t targeting lgbt aces, b/c there are lesbian ace/aros, gay ace/aros, bi ace/aros, pan ace/aros, trans ace/aros, nb ace/aros, agender ace/aros, and they all belong in the lgbt community, but not because of their asexuality. cishet ace/aros are not a part of it

my friend received an ask from a trans/bi person who put it very well imo: “ok so as for someone who kind of falls on the ace spectrum and is also trans/bi myself i'm almost frightened at the idea of someone who's cishet being welcomed into the community just bc they don't experience romantic/sexual attraction. this community has been a safe thing for me and i don't know, it just... lgbtq was formed bc of years of hatred and us being literally fucking murdered for being who we are by cishet people”

so yeah, the whole ace discourse thing for me is more solidly rooted in the cishet ace inclusion which i really disagree with. in terms of the comparing ‘levels of persecution’, i do think it is important b/c the lgbt community is literally founded on the shared oppression, and ace ppl who are not lgbt do not experience the same oppression
