This is me

Single black female. Well, not so single. My silence deafening. I forget things a lot. And I feel as if my grip on my own reality is slipping. Things that I could do when I was young, virile, and discovering myself have somehow gotten lost in translation. Where is that girl? Funny thing is I don’t where she is anymore. Her zest for life is truly missed. She was ahead of the game and never really knew it. Now, I must admit she came from a hardworking family. Being the oldest she was the responsible one. Babysitting siblings while her parents worked. She also tried her hardest in school. She was bullied, despite being the tallest, the biggest in her class. But, that seemed to drive her ambition even more. But, my life has changed. Boredom has set in. I can’t find my niche. Maybe I should start trying to find her again. I guess I will start as far back in my memory as I can. Going back in time might help me locate where that ambitious and driven young woman went. This is going to be a ride into the ups and downs of my life. Snapshots of my memories and a look into my day to day. Today starts the journey. Hopefully I am not walking alone.
