Hey dude! Just wanted to drop you a note and tell you that I made your chilli recipe and it was an absolute hit. I've been in such a dinner rut and this helped me flex my cooking muscles. The salsa is a god damn game changer. And for some ducking reason I've never used cumin before????? (Ikr? I blame my British mom who thinks pepper is spicy hahaha). Thank you for sharing!
Yay, I’m so glad you liked it! I was gonna post on here and ask if anyone had made it. My last batch was definitely the best I’ve ever made.
The salsa makes things SO EASY. And the cumin adds something really good to it even though it becomes kind of undetectable under the flavor of chili powder.
Glad it worked out good for you!

Did you read the book? It's been suggested to me a couple of times.
nah i have basically zero interest in it
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
THANK YOU!! You know I have been thinking about blueberry pie ever since that ask the other night, but pie and cake in the same week is kind of a lot. ...sooo maybe next week? 😋 I will teleport to you and we can share!
I'm not sure if you're answering asks but, what's a dish you've made and really enjoyed lately.
oh my god i made turkey kibbe tonight (bulgar wheat, spices, apricots, onions, ground turkey, parsley, zest from one lemon) and sliced cucumber with yogurt sauce (one container of plain greek yogurt, bunch of mint, juice from one lemon, salt and pepper) and it was fucking TO DIE FOR. it was really good and pretty simple other than all the chopping. 10/10 would eat again forever.
Okay! Remember when you used to do a dry rub on a brisket(spelling??). I've been thinking about it lately and I need to know the secrets.
yeah man!
my beef/brisket/pork butt rub is:
3T black pepper
4T salt
5T brown sugar
2T powder or 3T chopped fresh onion
1T mustard powder
1T garlic powder or like 5-6 cloves chopped fresh garlic
1T chili powder (or more or a spicier chili if you like spice)
this is obviously for a multi pound hunka meat so scale it down if you’re working with something smaller. rub it with olive oil, even on the fatty parts.
