Remember 2013? My mom passed away that year. The 3 things that got me through the roughest stuff were embroidery, Monster High dolls, and an ARG (alternate reality game) called “Find the Starlight”. The FTS group put in a lot of work figuring out the puzzles, and some of us got little trinkets that were to help as later clues. It was a great distraction, and we had a lot of fun.
The creator behind FTS and many other projects has a new thing again. It’s based in his Patreon, with access to a Discord server. Aside from not having a steady income, I can’t devote my brain-capacity to such a puzzle again. I’d love to recapture that old joy. But it was tough enough keeping up the first time.
I’m generally a lot more distant than I used to be, interacting online. I need that introspective time to myself. It’s not a bad thing; just different, just something that works better for me now.
If “Find the Starlight” ever got released as just a written story, without the puzzle, that’d be perfect for me right now. I’m still keeping my “Haines”-tagged key and my compass-coin. I promised to keep them safe.
