Our 2022 art exhibit “Fine Feathers: at play with structure and function” is on display until October 31. This picture shows just a portion of “Fortune on the Sidewalk” by Susan Powers. Susan Powers is a self-taught taught artist who makes her home in the old family farm house that is the source of much of her inspiration. Her still-lifes, landscapes, and city scenes have been exhibited in galleries world-wide and are in many permanent collections. From her artist statement: “I tend to look at everything as a potential painting and the challenge becomes how to reproduce it in two dimensions with paint - neither of which can possibly duplicate the infinite shapes and shades found in nature. Nora is inspired by the grace in the natural surrounding of Vermont from a small pebble to a vast landscape and sky.
