Kevin Hayes gf is super close with his family and visits them constantly. Unfortunately while she’s playing with his niece, she twists her ankle. She FaceTimes Kevin while in the hospital in which he arrives hours later.
The day started out normally. Kevin’s family was having a party and you were going even though Kevin was still held up in a hockey game. You didn’t mind, you loved his family and they always made you feel at home. However, things took a turn for the worse when you were playing with his niece. She wanted to have a race and you agreed, only while you were focused on going slow enough to let her win you missed the dip in the grass.
That brought you to where you are now. Sitting in the ER, ankle wrapped up. You said you were fine but the doctor wanted to stay to and get some extras to make sure nothing was broken. Kevin had Facetimed you a while ago, gasping at how swollen your ankle was.
“Seriously I’m fine Kevin,” you insisted. You didn't want him to worry.
“Babe it looks like you’ve got a golf ball on your ankle. I’m coming right now.” You tried to tell him it wasn’t worth rushing over to you for, but there was no arguing with Kevin.
You heard him before you saw him, asking around for you as if you were about to go into heart surgery. He pulled back the curtain that was separating you from the rest of the patients, sighing in relief when he saw you.
“Y/n thank god. Are you okay?” he asked, kissing your forehead.
“They’re going to have to amputate it, but besides that I'm feeling fine,” you joked, “But seriously I’m okay. You just missed the doctor and he told me nothing’s broken, just a bad sprain. They’re getting my discharge papers so we can leave soon.”
“Good I’m glad,” Kevin replied, cracking a teasing smile, “Guess I gotta tell Neila to go easier on you from now on.” You chuckled, playfully rolling your eyes at him. Although you told him he didn’t need to come, you were so glad to have him there.
When it was time to go Kevin insisted on carrying you out. The doctor said you were fine to put a little pressure on it with crutches, but that didn’t fly with Kevin. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t say you felt a little ridiculous being piggybacked out by Kevin, but you also sort of loved it. You couldn’t wait to get home and see what “nurse Kevin” had in store for you.
