Capable of producing retroviridae and other particle viroids upon successful replication within host cell; secondary mutation promotes increased RNA polymerase within 15 hour time frame, converting negative-sense to positive-sense, activating the viron. Further mutation may produce ambisence viroids capable of translating both senses, further improving virility.

UPDATE: Subject No 000, named ZERO. Power buffer failure at 10% maximum capacity 07:21:00 Hours; fatal core error resulted in destruction of Sector 9 within Scientific branch. Subject ZERO still missing, presumed to be at large and within the vicinity. ADMINISTRATIVE NOTE: Supervisor Dr.Johan K. Maynard has contracted the BETAV virus since starting the report and will be replaced by Dr. Sayuri Tanaka.

NOTE: All scientists in employment at Sector 9 must comply with a mandatory health examination and screening for BETAV. Quarantine must be observed for at least 48hours after initial inspection. Any sign of possible infection will result in an extended quarantine of up to 6 months. Contact with non-staff is strictly prohibited before and during examination process; violators will be dealt with on individual basis and circumstance.

Secondary Observation:

Rate of mutation much higher than forecasted ; uncontrollable genetic variety and duplication. Replication success sufficient to upkeep with unsuccessful RNA duplication and transcribing – high rate or rejection by host cell, often fatal. Victims with exposure to source viroid showed only mild flu symptoms – secondary exposure from primary contractants resulted in death within 24 hours after the engineered RNA polymerase production after 15 hour window period. Primary victims highly contagious even after the subsiding of symptoms. Note: Unusual mutations found within roughly 1% of subjects collected within the last 16 hours – strains named “Alpha” and “Omega”.

Alpha Betav Strain: Excessive physical mutation – mutations proved not only superficial but sub-epidermal changes as well. Organs and other bodily systems transfigured into an unknown genus – high amount of mental activity, roughly 200x that of a human. Different subject each displayed different characteristics, though classifiable into 3 distinct forms. Further research needed.

Omega Betav Strain: Unlike the Alpha strain, close to zero physical mutation ; brain activity close to 100% as opposed to the 10% of an uninfected human. One subject has displayed psychokinetic abilities; further research needed.

N/A – Prototype Virus, real time testing unauthorized unless subject has already been exposed to the BETAV virus beforehand. Report all sightings of Alpha or Omega BETAV strains straight to Sections Manager and Head Scientist.

So I checked my old Finite02 app for Seimei's stats

and found this in his abilities list:

Alpha Strain [G: Defense x N: Morale)

[Morale] Reliance or “Leave It To Others” -- heightens the team's overall abilities, decreases the backlash of using their powers and increases their situational awareness. This is activated the more relaxed Seimei is. This ability functions with the principle that slackers in a serious situation increase teammates' sense of urgency/independence. The skill activates when the user is in a restful state of mind, though the more common application is for the user to sleep/slack off. [Defense] Anti-body or “So Troublesome...” -- Increases pain tolerance and decreases physical damage incurred due to constantly regenerating cells. Because the use of this skill enhances the natural regenerative ability of the body, a side-effect of its use is a faster rate of aging.

Then I went and checked on Kazuki's stats to see if their partnership had a chance at surviving if they encounter danger.

Beta Strain [G: Defense]

Withstand- this strengthens certain body areas to withstand even the strongest attack. This however takes a great deal of concentration so he’s only able to do this at one area at a time, leaving the rest of his body vulnerable. Solace Barrier - the virus, acting to support its host to keep it’s survival, protects him by giving him regenerative powers. But activation of this mode puts him in a low-level energy state to recover or to heal any injuries he had incurred. Kazuki becomes unconscious in this state and is protected by a skin-level barrier.

This combination is the equivalent of using a Slowbro and a Metapod.
