Bilge toad.
That was the first thought—groggy, half-submerged, hauled up from sleep by a low, rhythmic drone. Close enough to rattle his jaw. He knew the sound. Anybody in earshot of Rafta's docks knew it: fat, warty little bastards that loved cramming themselves into nooks and crannies and groaned all night like they had a grudge against the concept of silence.
Finn was already drafting the complaint to his landlord, itemized, with a surcharge for the unholy hour.
Then he registered the weight across his hip.
His eyes opened to ceiling. Not the pillow he distinctly remembered falling asleep against. Ceiling.
He'd gone under on his stomach, half-draped over her. Now he was tipped almost onto his back, one arm pinned beneath—he lifted his head—yep. Beneath a leg. Specifically Sylvia's leg, slung over him with the proprietary confidence of a lien on a contested property.
The racket was coming from her.

Prompt B4: Apologies
Finn always felt a little guilty when Leo left him dinner on the stove on his late nights or weekend workdays (“You work so hard at your job, and it’s no trouble”). But he couldn’t apologize without explaining that he wasn’t spending all that overtime working on his job, not really. His office just had more resources for tracking someone down, so he tended to do his personal projects there too. Well, just one personal project. The one he had been working on since graduating college.
Finding Milo… or whatever his name actually was.
Finn had considered that maybe Milo didn’t want to be found many times, but he kept coming back to the look on his face when Finn didn’t know he was saying his last goodbye. The desperation unusually evident in guarded green eyes that Finn had uneasily justified as knowing that they would be moving out of each other’s pockets for the first time in a while soon. It wasn’t his choice to go, to completely disappear from the face of the earth. Finn could just feel it. He tried to chalk it up to finely honed journalistic instinct. On most days, he succeeded in that denial, but there were some where he woke up expecting warmth at his side, finding none, and knowing that he would do anything in his power to get it back. What else do you do when you’ve met your soulmate?
But there were moments in Finn’s life now that made him question his self-imposed mission. Moments when Leo left him a handwritten note next to something delicious smelling that only needed a few minutes of heating, when they sat on opposite ends of the couch and didn’t hold back their reactions to their respective books, when Leo smiled at him over the rim of a coffee mug. Maybe his life didn’t need to stop just because Lo was gone. But how could he let go of the project that he had been working on for 7 years?
Finn shook his head and took a fortifying sip of coffee. He was on the clock now, and he needed to focus on the research that he was being paid for. His boss had popped into his office that morning with a promising story on a local tech corporation with an unusual CEO. He had already scrawled questions all over the papers he was handed earlier, and now it was time to start searching for answers: Who is this Tom Riddle?
"What even are you?" I asked as I circled around the upright blue cat that sighed.
"I am a cat, and my name is Gumball Watterson." The cat said. "And what is that?" It asked pointing to Jake who was currently a boomerang.
"Jake." I answered with bluntly.
"Look, we don't have any time to question our existence, we need to go before this glitch gets us." Jake said urgency in his voice evident and the fact he spoke shocking Gumball.
"I agree with the talking boomerang, lets the hell out of here!" Gumball exclaimed before me and Jake following in close pursuit trying to escape the glitch, luck us it had slowed its pace to destroy the city that was in between us and it.
"Do any of us even know where it came from?" I asked as I threw Jake ahead having him morph back back into a dog big enough for me to hop onto.
"Hop on Gumball!" Jake exclaimed overriding my question and helping Gumball up before galloping away.
"No clue, but at least I got a companion through it now." The cat said with a smile
Here is an excerpt from my fic A Lifetime, which I PROMISE I am so close to finishing but life continues to eat away at me
Description: 5 times Finn notices how much their mother’s love each other
“What happened?” She asked, worry and fear woven together as she spoke, inspecting Adora’s slashed arm. Her tail whipped back and forth feverishly as she eyed her injury. She was agitated. “I thought it was just a recon mission!”
Adora opened her mouth to speak, but just as quickly Bow cut in.
“It was,” he promised. “But, when we got there some were...not so happy to see us,” His words faded off as his eyes fell downcast, clearly disappointed by their reception.
“They were lucky it was just the three of us,” Glimmer grumbled.
“But we’re fine,” Adora cut in, clearly trying to change the direction of the conversation. “Just caught off guard. And look!” She pulled her arm back from Catra’s tight grip, shifting down to her normal form within the luminescence of blinding gold light. “All healed! I just wanted to make sure we got back safely.”
Finn eyes grew wide in awe at the sight of their mother’s now fully healed arm. They had known it was something she could do, but they had never actually been able to see her do it. It was amazing.
Catra sighed, stepping back from Adora and lowering her arms, resigned. Her tail stilled as she stood there for a moment, recollecting her thoughts and reading the features on her wife’s face. She looked up at Adora with heavy eyes and even from how far away they were standing Finn could see all the emotion and care they held for her. They both knew she could heal herself, everyone did. If she was hurt, she could just change back to her true form and it would be like it never happened in the first place. Or, she could focus all her energy in that one area and make it disappear without ever having to change forms. That much was true. Yet, when she came back Catra had run inside in such a frenzy, so worried, so terrified when only just proposed the idea that she could be injured.
Adora, facing the direction Finn was standing noticed them right away. Her face began to beam at the sight of them and no doubt without taking in their slightly cowered form, ears lowered to match their nervous expression.
“Hi, baby!” She called, causing everyone else to stop and look.
Quickly, as to scurry away from the onslaught of glances Finn bolted towards her, jumping into their mom’s open arms and wrapping their own tightly around her shoulders, burying their face into the crook of her neck as if to hide. Adora showed no shift in her posture with Finn’s added weight, keeping steady and holding them both upright. “I’m glad you’re okay,” Finn whispered, low enough for only her to hear.
“Of course I am,” She replied, gripping Finn tighter and pressing a kiss to the top of their fluffy blonde hair. “How could I miss out on coming home to this?”
Finn felt her shift as she spoke the last part, leaving her voice just a little more distant as she turned her head to the side. They realized then she was most likely appraising Catra as she spoke, not only providing Finn the comfort of her presence but Catra as well, assuring them both that she would still be there for some time to come.
“Everything’s Stupid” or “Ohne dich ist alles doof”
Hahaha this prompt was fun! It’s based on this picture. Thanks for this @starbirdrampant
Finn kept staring at the little colourful beetle slowly crawling over the tip of his boot. When the Resistance had first set up their new base here on Sath-î, he had found these little creatures with their opalescent coloured fascinating. In fact, he had spent a whole afternoon following one of them around, revelling in the simple fact that he was allowed to spend his free time the way he wanted to. He remembered Poe encouraging him, even watching him follow the beetle around, but Poe was gone and he had been for three whole weeks now.
Finn leaned back, flinching away, when his head hit the hard surface of the droid behind him. Beebee-Ate whistled disapprovingly.
“Don’t be mean,” Finn muttered, folding his arms over his chest and staring at the sea stretching out below them again. He couldn’t even find joy in the sunset at the moment. Not when he didn’t know whether or not Poe was safe.
The astromech bumped into his side and the low sound, almost resembling a groan, made Finn shrug. “Yes, I know. I miss him too.”
He looked over his shoulder, where a couple of pilots were sitting in the grass near their X-Wings. Poe and he had sat with them so often during the last couple of months. Befriending them had come easily to Finn. But being near them didn’t feel the same anymore. At least he still had Beebee-Ate with him. That was something. The droid had been damaged on Poe’s last mission and had undergone some reconstruction work, when Poe had been asked to go on a new top-secret mission. Poe had needed to go in his X-Wing so of course there had been no room for Finn to come along and now Finn didn’t even know where Poe was, or if he was still alive.
Closing his eyes, Finn pressed his forehead against his knees. He hated this. He hated feeling this lonely. He had never even known what loneliness was, until he had found friends in both Poe and Rey. But training with Rey and Luke did nothing to improve his temper at the moment.
Feeling a tug at his consciousness, Finn looked up, the excitement already building up inside of him. His heart rate picked up before he even saw the black an orange X-Wing breaking through the thick layer of clouds. Poe! Poe was back!
Beebee-Ate at his side trilled shrilly, and was off to rush to the landing pad. Taking a deep breath, Finn came to his feet, already feeling a heavy weight dropping off his shoulder. He followed Beebee-Ate, running towards the X-Wing and climbing the ladder at the side before Poe had even fully popped open the canopy!
“Poe!” he shouted, as Poe took off his helmet, looking exhausted but healthy. Finn didn’t care about anything else.
“Hey, buddy!” Poe laughed, getting up and wrapping his arms around Finn who barely managed to hold his balance. “You okay?”
Beebee-Ate beeped indignantly.
“What’s he saying?” Finn asked, kissing Poe and tugging at his hair without waiting for an answer.
“He says,” Poe said, pulling back, “that you think everything’s stupid without me!”

Eleanor wanted me to do this and by Balance herself I will do it
The story began so long ago I cannot remember. I know I was integral to the escape, but only because they kept alive so I could continue to repair the Slip.
Now, I realize how strange things were - I should have noticed earlier, but I did not. But Eleanor is patient, and understanding, and she forgave me, so I find it hard to be mad at myself
