"Oversee" is something a boss(or project leader) does, they watch the work their subordinates (or peers who they have been asked to lead) do and make sure that everything gets done. "Overlook," is to miss something, like if you were looking for someone in a crowd but you thought they were further away so you looked over their head. So if someone who is supposed to oversee a project overlooks something, a crucial mistake in the project they are working on might happen.

"Happy birthday!" Eira placed a little basket of fresh blueberry muffins on the table in front of Finnian and then held out a wrapped box hiding a jigsaw puzzle that had a picture of a Western on it. She smiled a bit excited but still concerned about whether he would like it. Was a puzzle lame? He liked them so it had to be a decent present right? [ THIS IS *SO* STILL HIS BIRTHDAY x'D ]

Finnian had jumped a bit at Eira’s screaming “Birth...day?” He had told her once about the day he was born. Well, enough for a human to accept and understand. As they liked to talk of such days. But he had never celebrated any, himself. Gingerly taking the box she placed on the table and scooting the muffins closer to him, he sniffed at them before taking a bite out a muffin “Oh. These are very good, Eira.” He smiled a big smile at her then set the muffin down and grabbed the jigsaw box “Oh. I love these. I’ve never had this one before...Thank you so much, Eira.” He thanked, giving a nod.

Finnian! It's almost your birthday! What plans do you have for celebrating?

The alien paused, pulling back a bit to look toward the Anon. Registering what they had said to him then he tilt his head “Birthday?” He had never before celebrated a birthday. It seemed entirely to be more than anything, a human thing. More importantly, he was realizing. How on earth did they know his birthday was soon “Ah. Yes. My birthday! It is soon...Isn’t it...” With a cute grin he pulled his right hand into a fist, tapping it into the palm of his left hand “Let’s see...” He thought then, for a moment. Only very briefly before shaking his head “No. I don’t imagine that I’ve done any planning for a birthday, sorry.”
