I captured this a little while ago to spam all my friends, but I feel that its natural home is on tumblr:
If you can't see it (it has alt text but it is also photograph of a computer screen, sorry) it's a screen cap from the Australian Financial Review. ETA: The article itself is from 2024.
It reads:
The magic of compound interest Any saver can turn an initial deposit of $5,000 into $416,325 (before fees) over 20 years by earning an annual return of 10 per cent and investing an additional $500 each month into their investment kitty.
Don't worry, guys, as long as you have $5,000, put aside $500 a month for 20 years, and receive a higher than average ROI¹, you too can reap these rewards and escape the indignities of being poor. (人 •͈ᴗ•͈) ♡

¹ There are ways to invest that aren't like this, obviously, and presumably offer more reward (for higher risk?) but I did check what the S&P/ASX 200 was doing over the last 10 years. It has an average total return of 9.3% each year, per the Australian Securities Exchange blog.
