All right, this is a little different from the usual FFULW. This will only be two days, but the rest is similar. Two prompts a day, the last day has a free-for-all prompt. Fics, art, moodboards, playlists - however you want to celebrate our favorite weirdo - all are welcome at the event. Even if it's just a reblog or a signal boost, anything we can do to promote the Coach!

80s & 90s Camp

Remember the campy movies of the past? I’m talking about Return of the Living Dead, Mortal Kombat, Big Trouble Little China, Death Becomes Her, The Evil Dead 2, American Werewolf in London… and more! Lean into what makes you nostalgic. Plaid, neon leggings, big hair and bigger personalities, cut-off jean shorts, tape cassettes. A campy interpretation of a setting, profession, or monster. Reach back to tropes that make you smile in this throwback prompt!

Candy & Deep Cuts

Delicious and dangerous, the true spirit of Halloween! From cute kids in costumes to what lurks, menacing in the dark, this prompt is a catch-all. Make it as fluffy or dark as you want. Costume contests, trading candy, Halloween parties, late-night romance on the greatest night of the year. Bloody knives, screaming teenagers, being on the run from a monster/killer, creeping around in dark mists waiting for prey. Whichever side of the prompt sounds most fun, go and have a blast!

Pumpkin Patches & Sacrifices

For this prompt, let’s go to small towns with a farm-to-table feel. Pumpkin patches, apple orchards, hayrides. Hidden cults, pagan influences, forgotten gods. Nature can be as beautiful as it is terrifying. Autumn is when the leaves change, bursting in color before crumbling to dust. There’s a lot of potential here. Sweet, quiet countrysides. Isolated, insular communities working to hide a secret. The interpretation is up to you!

Trick-Or-Treat

For this, let this be a free-for-all. Have a blast, even if you want to step out of the Halloween theme, it’s all good on Trick-Or-Treat!

Finstock’s Fucked Up Long Weekend 2020

GET READY, PUNKS. 

From Friday November 13th, to Sunday November 15th I’m going to bring back Finstock’s Fucked Up Long Weekend! It’s a celebration of all things Coach, and last year was a bunch of fun! I hope to see familiar faces, and hopefully a few new ones. 

Fics, art, moodboards, playlists- it’s all welcome, this is a chill party. We’re not strict on rules. Show up and have a good time, whether it’s by reblogging or creating, let’s just have a good long weekend! 

Like last year, there will be two prompts per day. A Sides will be a little weirder and more open-ended, and B Sides are familiar tropes that we all know and love. 

I hope you guys are excited, and let me know if you have any questions at all!

A Side: Back to School

Ahhh, the taste of apples and stress of new beginnings. What does Back to School mean to you? Is it high school, slice of life in the canon or an AU? Is it coming back from break, night classes, or learning something new from an unexpected teacher at a laundromat at two in the morning? Is it the trials of being in Finstock’s classes? Is it an embittered competition for teacher of the year? The world is your oyster! Go with whatever speaks to you!

B Side: Hurt/Comfort

A classic, H/C has been here for all of us on tough days. Did a lacrosse player get injured? Is the injury more of the heartbreak/yearning type? Take comfort in the classic tropes, and ease the sting of the wound. 

A Side: Lights Out

It’s Saturday, which means we can stay up late! What happens when the lights go out? What lurks in the dark, a monster or a significant other? Did Finstock get his “lights knocked out?” Give me your gritty ideas, broken bulbs on the pavement. Give me the tired musings that can only come from stale coffee, with a flickering light that’s about to turn out. What does impending darkness mean to you? Sleep? Fight? Flight? Get as weird as you want. 

B Side: Soulmates

Soulmates, a timeless classic. Maybe it’s kids in the school finding soulmates, annoying the Coach with all these romances and teen punks running around. Maybe he’s a volunteer counselor for people who don’t have marks. Maybe he finds a soulmate in the weirdest place possible. The choice is yours! 

A Side: Clashing Patterns

We’re winding down, it’s Sunday and hangovers are inevitable. It’s hard to get up and put together an outfit, so clashing patterns are common. Something I love the most about Coach is how loud he is. He’s off putting and weird, like the worst neon print shirt shoved all the way in the back of a vintage shop. He’s what happens when someone plays a country song in one room, and death metal in the other. Embrace the dissonance on this day. Ugly is such a lazy word, let’s find beauty in the things that make us all unique and strange. 

B Side: Free Day

Sunday Funday aka Free Day! Was there an AU you wanted to explore? Coffee Shop/ABO/Regency ETC? Heck, maybe all this AU stuff is tedious, let’s work with canon. Or crossovers galore? Well lucky for you it’s FREE DAY. Anything and everything goes!

Finstock’s Fucked Up Long Weekend 2019

IT’S HAPPENING. 

From Friday November 15th, to Sunday November 17th, I’m going to celebrating all things Coach related, and I encourage you to do the same. Fic, art, graphics, gifs, playlists, moodboards, recs, whatever you’re comfortable with, let’s DO THIS THING. For themed prompts, I wanted to give a more open-ended choice, I ENCOURAGE everyone to twist the prompts into whatever tickles their fancy. The A Sides are more interpretive and odd, and the B Sides are more familiar to other challenges. Go with whatever your heart tells you! I want to give people enough time to plan, ask questions about prompts, so here they are:

A Side: NOISE COMPLAINT - 

To kick off this event, we’re starting off loud. It’s Friday, we’re off school and work, and it’s time to kick up the volume and PARTY. Noise Complaint can mean a whole mess of different things. Is Finstock throwing a loud party? Does he show up to school wearing loud clothes? Does he call the cops on a loud disturbance? Maybe we get to see the outsider perspective on just how LOUD the Coach is at games? Maybe it’s the misconception that he’s always loud, maybe we can see him in a softer moment. However you want to interpret this as, run wild! 

B Side: DATE NIGHT - 

Fries and footsie under the table - Date night! Is Finstock on the date? Is he awkwardly intruding on the date? Is it a Beacon Hills speed dating event that is hilarious and disastrous? The world is yours!

A Side: AFTER MIDNIGHT - 

All right, folks, it’s Saturday and that means we can stay up late and sleep in the next morning. So today’s A-Side theme is After Midnight. What keeps people up late at night? Is it something sensual? Is it the fear of whatever lurks in the dark? Insomnia? Does it fill your mouth with dread or the taste of lukewarm coffee? The witching hour always offers interesting ways to get spooked and fill time, so let’s get some stories that take place in this magical window of time. Do you want something creepy, quiet, sexy? Go wherever your midnight heart takes you!

B Side: CREATURE FEATURE -

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! Aka creature feature. Is Finstock a creature? Is he meeting some wolves? Is a monster causing problems at a lacrosse game? The world is your oyster!

A Side: TEAM BUILDING EXERCISE - 

Happy Sunday! The first Finstock’s Fucked Up Long Weekend is coming to a close and I’m so happy I got the courage to throw this thing. And, like many things, I couldn’t have done it without my friends, so let’s end this fest on the prompt of Team Building Exercises. Finstock’s a Coach, after all, maybe you want to explore how he’s viewed by the team, what got him there, the friends he has… or maybe making rec lists to reach out, and support friends! Kick back, take it easy, it’s Sunday and it’s been a long weekend of maniac content. Monday is coming, but for right now we can just chill and look back fondly on one hell of a Fucked Up Long Weekend. 

B Side: REST AND RELAXATION -

Iced lemonade in the shade - fluff! Kick back, it's the last day, take it easy. Cuddles, hugs, high fives, or maybe just a nice day in alone after a long week, let's give Coach some love!
