tilantuntu = the feeling of being in a spacious area. Mirrors lisäävät tilantuntua.
rannikko = shore. Me näimme veneitä rannikolta.
luonnonrauha = This is somewhat abstract. The peace in the calm nature or the peace you feel while being in the nature. I go running in places joissa ei ole ketään rikkomassa luonnonrauhaa.
kuisti = either an indoor porch or an outdoor walled veranda. Ulkokuistit don’t usually have doors. Kylmäkuisti is inside the house, but the radiators are kept low. A freezer is often kept kylmäkuistissa.
eteinen = lobby or entry. The room you walk in, while you step into a house. Ihmiset jättävät kenkänsä eteiseen.
ikkunalauta = the slightly angled or horizontally placed ledge outside a window.
kukkalaatikko = a box for growing small plants, most often flowers. Ikkunalaudoilla on usein kukkalaatikkoja.
huokua = the vibe coming from an object huokuu siitä. To ooze, to give out, to exclude, etc. Rannikosta huokuu long lost summer memories.
häälyä = to linger, to be only slightly seen behind something. Kirkko rakennus häälyy behind the trees in Pieter Bruegel’s The harvesters painting.
vehreä = an expression for lively green vegetation. Vehreä scenery calmed my mind. Vihreä is just plain green.
luonnontilainen keto/niitty = meadow, which has grown without people cutting niityn plants down or by otherwise disturbing it.
niittäminen = mowing, cutting plants. Niitto työt often occur in many paintings, like for example in Niittomiehet by Pekka Halonen.
työläs = an adjective for something, which requires a lot of effort. Oli työlästä niittää koko alue by hand. Iltaisin ei jaksa opiskella mitään kovin työlästä.
korea = pretty. But usually for some pretty thing to be described as korea, it needs to have a good amount of refined details. Hänellä oli päällään koreasti embroidered shirt.
kirkas = bright or clear, depending on the context. Kirkkaalla säällä on valoisaa. Kirkkaalla taivaalla ei ole pilviä. New drinking glasses ovat kirkkaita.
