So Clair's situation at the Southern Outpost is brushed off as solved when Alm rescues her, but that previous battle was probably hell for her.

She is "new to military command," and must bear the pressure of being put in charge. She has all these expectations on her: she's sister of the highest ranking military commander in Zofia, surrounded by incredible knights. Everyone is looking to her for leadership when they're attacked.

Due to no personal failing -- but definitely feeling like it -- she has to watch all those soldiers who were relying on her die. She is taken prisoner herself. The guilt and shame of the defeat probably eats away at her long after she was rescued :((

Headcanon time

Clair goes to visit Ram Village, and Clive ends up coming along. The kids give them the tour, introduce them to their families, and the pair even get to do some dirty work on the farms. Despite how incredibly unfamiliar everything is, they both are good sports about it. Clair ends up loving the experience and visits often.
