Best Case Scenario: Netherworld

Because chiro is organic and therefore weak against the draining effects of the netherworld the fire of hate saw fit to mutate/change/adapt his body to the inhospitable conditions of the evil dimension. At some point he uses his leadership skill to direct some dark ones to fight the monkeys separating Jinmay and Antauri from the rest for a lil duel. also that purple fire is just corrupted power primate.

I could definitely see Chiro playing a huge role in helping Sprx recover. But I also believe Nova would be a huge support system for Sprx considering how much she opened up to him and that a writer confirmed they'd probably be a couple. I'd also like to believe Antauri would play some role so we'd get some resolve fir their issues. Maybe it'd go like this: Chiro's complete trust in him pushes Sprx to focus on taking care of Chiro rather then spend time questioning his own fault. Nova keeps-

2 Nova would work hard to keep Sprx from closing up from them. She’s already admitted her feelings so there’s no reason for her to hold back. Ecspecially since losing him scared her so much. Antauri’s help might be more agressive. Like how you wrote about it in Midnight Confessions. Antauri’s sage mode wouldn’t help him. Those two have be brutally honest in order to really help each other. So yeah. Chiro’s complete trust and reliance on him. Nova’s love and fear of losing him. Big positive help

I agree! Nova would absolutely want to help Sprx, though I imagine it might be difficult for him at first. After all, he did nearly break her apart with his magnets. He may shift between wanting to reassure himself she’s still there and be scared that he would hurt her again. That’s not to say she wouldn’t still try to be there for him or that they couldn’t work past it, but it would be hard in the beginning. (Of course, once they did work past it, I think it would be easiest to go to her—because Nova knows what it’s like to be so consumed by anger she hurts the people she loves.)As for Antauri, his sage-way of handling things may feel to Sprx like kid-gloves and useless platitudes, or even Antauri trying to dismiss him. Which is why things play out the way they do in Midnight Confessions. Sprx strikes me as a very “you have to give to get” kind of person. So Antauri would have to be vulnerable too… and. Anyway, you see where my thought process went for MC, yes? And then you have Chiro. It’d probably be hard for Sprx to be around him sometimes too! He may feel like he let Chiro down, or feel like he betrayed his duty as Chiro’s mentor/guardian/older brother. But Chiro’s honest caring, trust, and forgiveness would probably worm through his guard and make it hard for him to push him away. Especially during the War, when they’re really going to need each other’s support.Aaaaanyway, long post to say I agree with you xD

And because i’m a filthy Chinmay Shipper this gives me a reason to draw the “i love you and the I Know You're in There Somewhere" with Chiro and Jinmay instead of Sparx and Nova with a twist...

Fire of hate Q: From what I remember FoH Sprx did not insult Chiro or directly fight him. Of course he had to have known Chiro was literally dying at one point not far off while he fought the team, so there's that extra trauma for you. But yeah, I think Sprx only insulted Gibson and Antauri right? The two monkeys he has shown consistent conflict/problems issue with.

That’s what I remembered too!

My interpretation of the Fire of Hate was that it took every feeling of anger Sprx had and amplified it. (And also, because it was a piece of Skeleton King, imbued him with loyalty to SK/the Dark Ones.)

So if he resented Gibson for being smarter than him, or for being condescending—even if only in a small part—then that was blown up. Whatever his issue with Antauri was—and I have a lot of theories, as you’ve probably seen!—was blown up. Those are two of his bigger issues, so they were the ones that came to the forefront.

If he had been under the influence longer, we might have seen more of his issues brought to the surface, but sadly, cartoons only air for 20 minutes. (Or maybe that’s good. Less suspense.)

Also, tbf, one monkey could have totally stayed behind and helped Chiro back through the portal before going after the Soul of Evil. (Or they might have been able to grab the skull from a downed Valina and Mandarin, assuming Valina didn’t have it warped somewhere.)

Sprx post fire of hate: I forgot to add, but I could see Gibson being a big help too for Sprx. Sprx would feel guilty over yelling/ignoring earlier. But Gibson would know what Sprx went through from (briefly) touching the Ice of Vengeance. His unconditional forgiveness, mercy and logical reason might be the support Sprx would first open up to to talk about what he was going through. Otto, I think, would be both kind yet blunt. He'd make sure Sprx is okay and that they're still close friends. -

but Otto would also assure Sprx he’d have gone throughwith killing him if it meant saving Nova or anyone else on the team. I thinkthat vow would make Sprx feel better because Sprx would rather die than hurtanyone he loved. He’d count on Otto being able to get stone cold when neededfor the team. But other than that, Otto would try to help Sprx enjoy himselfand focus on other productive things. Chiro might also try to be stronger forSprx to rely on him and be more sensitive to his moods too.

It isabsolutely going to be a team effort in helping Sprx recover.

Both Antauriand Gibson have been turned against the team before—though Gibson doesn’t rememberbeing turned during Thingy. But Gibson also experienced, very briefly, theeffect that pieces of Skeleton King, pieces that the Dark Ones imbued withtheir foul magic, can have on a monkey. In all honesty, if he actually wantedto talk about the Fire of Hate, it would have been best to go to Gibson, in Monkey As the Rest of Us. But Gibsonwouldn’t be his first option. After all, Antauri is the one who’s supposed tobe equipped to handle this, right?

But, we’llget to Gibson’s part in MidnightConversations. I have plans. Vague, half-formed plans ready to be turnedover and thought about for longer, but plans.

That’s notthe subject of this ask, though. So—Yes. Gibson’s experience and forgivenesswill be very helpful to Sprx—but he may also compare himself to Gibson, and theway that Gibson was able to pull back and realize what the object would do,while Sprx just… grabbed it. But that’s something that they can work throughtoo—Sprx just has to say it. And with enough coaxing, he probably will. But notbefore he tries to antagonize anyone who attempts to pry it out of him intogiving up or revealing their own insecurities. (Except Chiro, but he’s notgoing to talk to Chiro, because Chiro is supposed to be Protected.)

OTTO. He’sthe hardest one for me to characterize, which is why he gets POV so little inmy fics. :cries: I love him, though, and I want to get better at writing him. Idon’t know if he would have explicitly said “kill” but he definitely wouldassure Sprx that he would have stopped him before he could hurt anyone. And whilethat might be a little unnerving, I would imagine it would be reassuring to himas well. But then after that, he goes back to being the other Otto—the lessserious one who does and says goofy things, and the one that people most often characterizehim as. (I’m probably guilty of this one.) He finds ways to amuse Sprx when hecan, and distract him when he can’t. Like, I’ve said it once before, but Ireally do think that they like to work on ships together. So he just kind ofdrags Sprx off when he thinks he needs a distraction.

Chiro tryingto be stronger for Sprx does things to my heart, Anon. Poor baby. He would, though.Absolutely. Sprx would likely see right through it, because one doesn’t becomea good pilot by being unobservant. And maybe that would be what inspires him toactually let the others help him? Because, as we saw in Depths of Fear, Sprxwill do things that make him uncomfortable for Chiro’s sake. And Chiro hasenough going on with the War and the Chosen One thing.
