I just need to take a minute to shout out my buddy @cjavors. Chuck is the literal definition of kindness. In the dictionary next to "friend," you'll see Charlie's picture. He checked in on us hospitality folk almost daily when we first shut down. When he couldn't mobilize with us last summer, he went to the store to buy us snacks. When he got done shoveling his sidewalk, he walked down to Aberdeen and started shoveling there cause he "just wanted to help out" - then he ran over to my house and helped dig my car out. He's offered us parking in his work garage and rides to wherever when the snow got really ridiculous. Last night, he offered to let us use the laundry in his apartment when he found out our washer was on the fritz so we wouldn't have to go to the laundromat. And today, when he reminded me that the offer stood, he damn near insisted that I eat the soup he made last night, too. These are just a handful of examples of how thoughtful this guy is from the past few months. I'm so incredibly grateful to have such a caring, compassionate friend in my corner. And I can't wait to get back to the UC and scream "FIRE BOWMAN!" with him again.
