Tanvi Lee,10, a Grade 5 student at Alexander Graham Bell Public School in Ajax, was awarded Ajax 2019 Fire Chief for the Day, after her submission on fire safety was the winning entry. Ajax fire fighters visited the young girl at her school Oct. 17. They dressed her up in her own bunker gear, had a visit with Sparky and took her for a ride on a fire truck before starting her day of chief duties. Kelsy Bailey,10, signs off on Fire Chief Mark Berney's vacation request, as she was awarded Scugog's Junior Fire Chief for a day Oct. 9. The Grade 5 student submitted the award winning entry on fire safety that won her the title for the day. While she was on duty, the young fire chief had a chance to explore the fire hall, see inside the fire trucks, as well as try on some bunker gear.
