Hey hey hey~! So finally home and back to the grind after Katsu! Being that it was my first year in attendance to Katsucon, overall I had a good time. It's a much more ritsy con than what I'm used to; everyone brings their A-game for the very picturesque settings for photoshoots.
After an 11 hour trip down with a very tired me driving a very full van, I like the relaxed atmosphere of the prep-thurs as I will call it. Which was spent hanging out with friends, preparing the cosplays out of the suitcase and picking up badges.
Honestly the rest of the con is a blur, I busted out Sinbad on Friday, the gathering was fun.. again those A+++ magi cosplayers though! Met some cool chill people.
Saturday, I started out in Iwatooshi, It was good to finally debut him for the gathering, despite my naginata getting broken in travel, some hot glue saved the day...
... and then the fire nation attacked. LOL
But not really... no doubt everyone's heard of Katsu #firecon2k16 So I won't elaborate. But in my 8 years of attending cons I've never seen one having to be evacuated. Now I have. Luckily no one was hurt.. just some very cold con-goers.
Once inside, I decided to bust out uniform Bokuto.. and considering this was the first time I put him on at all... I WAS A VERY PLEASED HOOT. So excited, in fact, I wiped out on the stairs and pretty much broke my ass... don't worry... I'm okay, just sore. I also hit up the HQ! PJ party, despite the mishaps, the HQ meetups were by far the funnest ones I've attended.
Sunday was uniform bokuto again, followed by packing and resting. Overall I liked the dealer room and artist alley, always highlights of my cons.
So anyone that attended Katsu, I hope you had a good time, if you didn't hopefully you can attend in the future. :)
So in conclusion... here, I finally got a gazebo selfie.
