Finally caught Firecracker's iridescence on camera!! The light hit his tank juuuust right, and I grabbed my camera at the right moment when he was at the front.

As of 09/14/24 Firecracker has been with me for one entire month!!!

I've upgraded him to a 10 gallon since nothing else I've tried has stopped his glass surfing, so I'm hoping the extra space will help with that! It took a lot of rearranging in my room to make this work but it's worth it for him.

Here's hoping my little guy likes his new house!

Firecracker isn't a fan of the camera it seems! Of course, the second I put it away he starts doing food zoomies. He seems to be settling in well and it's really cute!

#fishblr #bettablr #firecracker tag #everyday life #he's still getting used to the feeding ring #but he's eating most of what i give him for his two daily meals #though with the bug bites he has issues with the size #so one pellet gets crushed into four/five pieces equivalent to the size of his other pellet food #he seems to like them both though!

I've had my little guy for 2 months and 13 days now, and his color never fails to stun me. How some people can say solid red colors and veiltails are boring is beyond me I suppose.

Introducing Firecracker!

Hello all! It's been about two years since I last kept a Betta, and I was missing having a little water wiggle to wake up to each morning. So after what felt like forever waiting for the tank to cycle, I finally have a new boi!

I added a dose of seachem stressguard to be safe since he's still clamped up from being in that pet store cup, and a dose of stability to be extra safe even though my parameters are where they should be because I'm paranoid. He's a gorgeous, curious little guy.

I turned his lights off after I took the video and a few quick pictures; and then covered the tank with a towel to keep it nice and dark since I tend to leave a light on at night in my room. We'll see how his fins look and how he eats in the morning!
