Adam swallowed, stretching his neck. “I’m never gonna need to wear a tie, Vic, why are we doing this?” The fabric felt uncomfortably close around his throat, and it was only getting tighter. She didn’t roll her eyes – too poised for that – but Adam could get the feeling anyway. “I’m serious, when’s the next time I’m gonna go to a dance? Or a church?” Where else did you even wear these things? He was convinced he didn’t need to learn how to tie a tie, but it was Vic’s idea, and when Vic put her mind to something there was no stopping her, not even Adam.
