Palace Life: day 7
More visitors are arriving to the palace for council meetings. Today has been busy getting the Royal couple’s formal attire prepared. I helped commission a Fire Nation gown that has blue and silver waves embroidered in lieu of the customary gold trim.
Lady Katara was studying all her gowns and they were separated by either Water Tribe Blue or Fire Nation Red. When she asked my thoughts on what she should wear, I suggested that she has a way to reflect both Nations. One thing lead to another and she asked me to help commission the gown! Her concern over not hurting either Nation that she holds dearly is just what we needed in a Fire Lady!
Lady Katara mentioned her brother, Prince Sokka, is here. He always seems to lighten the atmosphere around here. I remember after the war, tripping over a WHOLE pig chicken in his room. I thought it was for some Water Tribe battle ritual only to watch him claim it as a mid-morning snack, while I replaced his towels.
The Fire Lady seems to get embarrassed by his social abilities, while the Fire Lord seems to enjoy adopting them as standards. The kitchen staff was talking about how he had them cleaning bamboo to use to drink with. The Fire Lord liked the idea so much that he insisted all the council have one. While, the Fire Lady pointed out that there will be an increase of mouth burns once they try it with hot tea.
