I quickly rush into the adoption center to hide away from the sudden crowded street,I slowly sink down to the floor & clutch my chest to calm my racing heart & not hyperventilate, "idiot..why did i decide to leave the house...?"I cringe & quickly cover my ears.(I have a thing called "Sensory Processing Disorder"even tho at the moment it isnt recognized as a distinct medical diagnosis my doctor suspects I have it.Im highly sensitive to my surroundings & common noises for others are painful to me)
(I’m assuming this is an adoption request. Unfortunately, I have too many asks to do an actual roleplay)
*You wander through the adoption center with your headphones on, looking for a quiet spot to sit down, calm down, and figure out where, exactly, you are. There are signs everywhere, but even that is a bit overwhelming in your anxious state. A large bird skeleton waves to you, seeing your panic, and guides you into a quiet room off of the nursery. You lift just one side of the headphones to check the noise level. Ah, much better. You ask the skeleton where you are. He introduces himself as Edgar and explains that you are in a bitty adoption center.
*Bitty adoption? You’d never considered that before. In fact, you weren’t sure about considering it now. What if the bitties were loud? You tell Edgar all of this. He gives you a knowing smile and invites you stay in this quiet room (a nursery room, according to Edgar) for as long as you’d like. As you’re sitting there, enjoying the relative silence, the door opens slowly. Curious, you watch two little snake bitties (one skeleton, one fire-type) slither through the door. You’re a bit nervous. What if they start making a lot of noise? You quickly warn them about your sensory processing disorder. They nod and say nothing.
*One of the lamias (as they are called), holds up a white board with the word “Mute” written on it with a smiley face. He points at himself. He erases the board and writes a new word on it next to the smiley face: “Quiet.” He points to his friend who has black and stripes on the snake part of his body. The quiet bitty asks softly if it’s ok for them to be here. You think about it, then tell them it’s fine. They are pretty quiet. The two lamias climb into your lap, allowing you to pet them. They purr every so softly, more a vibration in their bodies than a sound. The fire lamia is pleasantly warm.
*As the two adorable lamias doze off from your gentle pets, you begin to think that maybe you’d like to adopt them. You’ll ask about it once they wake up; you don’t want to disturb them. Besides, this room is an excellent spot for you to de-stress, and the thought two future quiet companions actually sounds pretty good to you.
