- hestia first notices sibyll durinf their first divination lesson. trying to impress her classmate, sibyll sweeps a mug off the table with her hand, causing the entire class to laugh. hestia also laughs, but because sibyll seems amusing to her.
- they are paired together in herbology, and hestia ends up doing almost all the work on her own. returning to the hufflepuff common room, she thinks, "and i even thought that girl was interesting".
- at the next divination lesson, sybill sits next to hestia and says, “all right, i’ll read your fortune - for yesterday.” and hestia can’t stay angry with her anymore, seeing how nervous trelawney is.
- when sybill’s fingers trace the lines of hestia’s palm, she finds herself blushing, not even knowing why.
- after a while, sybill notices that hestia isn’t as carefree as she pretends to be.
- "you have a long and straight life line - that means it will be long and happy," says sybill, looking at the smiling hestia, and for the first time she hopes that her inventions will become reality.
