The 5+1 format is one of my favorites to read! This fic does that brilliantly by looking at 5+1 Christmas celebrations in Snape's life.

Check it out because - if you are like me and really like oldschool teacher/student Snarry with a lot of angst and angsty endings, this fic is for you. Brilliant premise, really good writing, perfect execution! I really, really, really loved this fic. It made me nostalgic about older Snarry fics with this premise!
The dungeons are always cold and dark. Colder and darker in winter.
Less cold, and less dark, with Harry Potter in his bed.
It is not the lit hearth that illuminates the room. Not the fire that warms them. It is Harry’s skin, golden beneath Severus’ hands. Harry’s eyes, bright springtime green.

Lots of good fics at Snarry Adopt a Prompt Fest this time. But I had zero doubt that this is the fic I wanted to rec! This is the type of fic that doesn't get written a lot anymore! A great combo of the best and classic Snarry angst tropes. This fic delivers!

Vibe - Beautiful prose with a complicated Snape characterization and a bittersweet ending
Author's Summary - A wand is made.
Check it out because - This is a powerfully haunting fic from the get go. The opening scene is one of the best I have read in literally years. Disturbing, convincing and really intimate.
After that amazing opening scene, it just gets better scene after scene. There's zero weak scenes/filler in this fic. It's tense nonstop. But the tension is also really intimate? I don't know how to explain it.
The magic written in this fic definitely has vibes of dark fairytales. To make powerful weapons you need love. I mean lots and lots of fairytales/books have this trope. It's also the core plot of HP novels! So that part isn't really groundbreaking.
What I found really, really unique and incredible was the execution. This is dark and maybe twisted. It's also seriously, seriously romantic. This is cry your heart out levels of heartbreaking. At least for me. But it's my OTP. So you can't blame me for crying. But the heartbreak was also cathartic. The writing is precise with a zoom/blur effect which somehow protects the reader from feeling the really raw parts w/o compromising the storytelling. Because the fic has MCD but it's also victorious/epic/loving which feels like the right ending here?
It's definitely the type of fic where the classic happy ending isn't possible to do justice to the plot! Some fics sometimes force a happy ending which can feel like it's unearned. I feel this fic has the only ending which would work with its plot.
Potter stood before him, as his little Napoleon, windswept and ferocious and fearless. His face was brighter than Cassiopeia's stars.
Snape knelt before him and handed him the comb and the blade.
"What must I do?" Potter asked. For the first time in ten or twelve years, fear tinged his voice.
"Shear me. Bare me."
It's got a really dramatic storyline without dramatic speeches or anything like that. The forest, the dragon, Snape himself, the ravens...everything feels completely doomed. But they are going to give Harry the weapon he needs. Pitch perfect dark fairytale vibes honestly.
This is a Snarry endgame fic with some Snape/Ollivander implied. But the implication from the beginning is that Snape is in love with Harry. No infidelity, dubcon or anything like that. Like I said this fic is more in the dark and romantic fantasy category. Not really the relationship drama category. FWIW I really loved the Ollivander characterization.
Really, really a big fan of how it's 100% about Love + Sacrifice which is my personal favorite Snarry vibe.
Rec note - This fic is the second reason I picked light and fluffy fics for the rest of the list. Brilliant, disturbing, romantic and bittersweet. It's really giving me throwback vibes to a lot of brilliant fics from Team Angst authors during the Snarry Games! 11/10 Highly recommend! The perfect fic to end this list with!
