oooh. 11 unique questions.
I got tagged by the amazing @firgolfin (which neither my phone and email did not notify me of its existence)
1. What’s the best holiday you went on? why? Where was it?
I'm going to assume "Holiday" here means vacation (since I'm a silly American and we can't seem to refer to anything the same way other countries do. There have been a lot of good ones, but I’m torn between two. One – the family went out to see relatives in Arizona. We drove from Kentucky, got to see the Grand Canyon … had ice cream stolen by really brave/friendly squirrels and all that. This also happened to be the day OJ Simpson made his famous (infamous?) “trip” in the White Bronco, so make of that what you will. Two – the family went to Florida to hit Disney World and Universal Studios. This was a big deal b/c there are 5 of us and even then, neither place was cheap (I haven’t looked into costs recently, but I know it’s a lot more than it used to be). My favorite part at the time (and still kind of a favorite) was getting to “meet” the Ninja Turtles at Universal Studios. We got pictures taken with all 4 of them and April, but I’ve only managed to locate evidence of 2 turtles and April. I might post the pictures that I’ve found … maybe.
2. What is your favourite sound?
Um … either the sound of rain on a sturdy roof (tin roofs make a really nice sound when they’re rained upon) or spawn’s soft breathing when he’s sleeping.
3. And your favourite view/thing to see? What always makes you happy seeing it?
Spawn’s face when he sees me picking him up from school. That smile as he barrels toward me (I swear, that boy should be a football player) just melts my heart
4. What is your favourite weather? (Yes, we are done here with favourites now.)
Honestly, I like my weather to hit about 70 degrees Fahrenheit (which is … what? 21 degrees Celsius?) with clear skies and a light breeze (so … this could happen in any season where I live – we actually had that a couple days in winter … and then the following day it went down to 25 degrees F and we had snow.)
5. Which book would you recommend your followers to definitely read?
If you have months … The Great Book of Amber, by Roger Zelazny. The thing is huge, and sometimes a little convoluted, but I greatly enjoy it.
6. How long would you survive in a zombie apocalypse?
Since more than likely I’d be focused on keeping spawn alive, probably not as long as I’d like. But I’d try to be careful, and we do keep a lot of sharp implements in the house, so … maybe?
7. In above mentioned zombie apocalypse, which five things are in your survival backpack?
Oh good lord. I have no earthly idea. At least one box of protein bars to split with spawn, as large a bottle of water as I can fit in there, a large pack of wipes, a first aid kit (also as large as can fit), and … um … one of spawn’s stuffed animals (because he’s going to need something to comfort him … for a while, anyway)
8. Would you (in above mentioned apocalypse) team up or try to survive alone?
Certainly team up, if I can find people that I trust (and that don’t totally terrify spawn)
9. Describe two of your survival mates in that apocalypse in case you’d team up.
Gah. Look at you, making me think. Skilled with some sort of weapon – I’d say blade over gun, mostly due to the noise factor, though the idea of not letting them close is a good argument for gun … so, maybe proficient with both? Compassionate enough to be willing to keep a 5-yr-old along for the ride, but pragmatic enough to know when a person’s beyond saving (don’t keep someone around that’s been bitten or has consistently demonstrated a severe lack of team-playing) …. Competent in regards to what is safe to eat in the wild (plant and animal at that point) …. Oh, heck; I don’t know … (I’m not being very helpful, am I?)
10. What’s the last thing you cooked?
Hamburgers on the grill :)
11. Zombie apocalypse or Woodstock-festival?
I’m gonna go with a Woodstock-esque festival, largely because I’m not big on the idea of dying O=)
Can I cheat and skip the part with “find 11 new questions”? Some of these are just too interesting to not have someone else answer :) So I tag the following (and none of you should feel obligated to do so) @willowflowerwaterlily , @replicajester , @commandertemplartrash , @gerundsandcoffee , @bloomingcnidarians , @jedireyslightsaber , @silentstephi and … @thesecondsealwrites
