The Church of Scientology claims it isn't a cult - but not everyone agrees
As a class, we visited the Church of Scientology. This was an experience I appreciated, even though I wouldn't go again. I thought it was cool to get an understanding for something that i had no background knowledge for, and have heard very many things about, both positive and negative. What we did is the opposite of what is going on in Ireland.
In Ireland the population of registered scientology practicers is at 87, yet the church of scientology is invading the country to convert people by means of money. The religion has built a Centre far larger than its practicer count. Mater of fact, its new centre will have 250 employees!
People protested the project but had no way to stop it. Some people don't like the way the church has revealed itself in Ireland, others are afraid of what the church actually practices. One activist is afraid that the church will target the mentally vulnerable and disabled children to increase its following.
