was very blessed to meet the young man Davis the other weekend in pittsburgh by pure happenstance, and over the course of the night he told me some about the music he made and part of his approach (”every morning after i get home from a night out, i sit down and work on a track before i go to bed”). he struck me right away as someone who was very with the shits and an eminator of good, safe vibes, but nothing prepared me for this next level once i finally got around to listening to his stuff. i’m talking the romantic cinematic thumps with an upfront psychedelic rawness that could only come from the rust belt, swirling vocal pads always on the edge of shattering their glass cases, ruddy synths dripping with nervous ecstatic sweat, just every last bit of sonic information ripping its heart out and laying it in front of you. i am hungry as fuck for more big things from this kid and doing what i can to help him feed the streets.
