Hypothetically speaking, if you were to do a postgrad, would you do it at cam or would you be worried about your postgrad experience being too different from your undergrad?
Yeah I probably wouldn’t want to sully the experience if that makes sense? But I mean, I wouldn’t be totally against it. I think it’s more likely that I’d do one here in London or back in the states though.
Is it true Queens have had Florence and the Machine and Bastille for May Ball?!!!!! Huge artists like that perform at Cambridge?!!! :-O
Yup, they played there a few years before I got there. Bastille played Queens in my 1st year actually. But yeah, May Balls pretty regularly get very cool people to come in, although it’s usually for the bigger ones (Johns, Trinity).

this isn’t a massive amount to go on…Trinity makes you great contacts? Churchill is known for its strong sciences? Downing/Emma/Pembroke will be nearest to lectures (but Peterhouse, Catz and Corpus will also be really close). Maybe Emma? or Pembroke? they’re both academic but not as intense as Trinity, they’ll both be close to lectures. I don’t know if we’re known for it but in my 2nd/3rd year only 2 of our like 10 natscis didn’t get firsts (that would be Downing) but it is a more clubbing atmosphere. Churchill too, really known for natsci.

For someone who has never studied arch or anth before, could you give a small explanation as to what it entails, apart from that it's about humans approached biologically and culturally. Is it like English and history with lots of interpretation and analysis, or more like biology and statistics? It's hard to know if the degree is for me, because all reading can teach me is facts, and I obviously know that at Cam it's not about reciting facts.

college match please: I'm a girl for English; I like going out and being sociable - im not looking for a 'shut in' kinda college. I like a community feel so not a massive college, I don't want a crazy pressured one either. Preferably one that has decent accommodation (ensuites would be ideal but I know they're rare). I'm not into drama or sport but i'd like to get involved in the jcr. Also somewhere quite liberal and relaxed about things like sexuality would be good! thank you xx
Peterhouse has a large LGBT population, is awesome for english, isn’t super sporty, is fun and very community-ish! They’re accommodation isn’t stellar though. For better accommodation try Jesus, Downing, or Kings maybe! And pretty much everywhere in Cam will be chill with sexuality stuff.
Do international parents usually come with their children for their first time going to Cam? Do they stay for matriculation, etc?
I would say about 1/2 of international parents come to drop off, 1/2 don’t. If they do come, they definitely shouldn’t stay till matriculation. In fact, they pretty much shouldn’t be there when the Brits arrive (that’s on the Saturday), and they really shouldn’t stay much after dropping you off for ifreshers! Most parents drop you off, stay that night in a hotel in Cam, and then are back to London (or home) that next morning.
Are the apostles still around? Do you ever hear about them, are there any rumours?
Oh yeah, they exist. They’re mostly shady rumors, like I don’t know anyone in it. But yeah, there’s 12 people at a time, each week someone presents a topic and then there’s a little discussion on it. That’s the word on the street anyway.
Hi, if it isn't too much of a bother, can I get a college match? So I'm extremely competitive (academically), and have actually been accelerated a grade above my level. I love soccer (football), badminton, and basketball, and want to go into either PBS or HSPS. Pricing's a small problem, but not too big of an issue. Also, I do not drink at all, like, nada. Also, I plan on pursuing a further in academia. XX
